A ship is only a ship if someone is waiting at the other end of the voyage. This month we learned how many of you are waiting: The Argosy now reaches more than 500 readers every month.
For a student paper in its fourth year, that number still surprises me. Our writers file from five time zones, often at hours their parents would rather not know about, and for most of our history we wrote on faith that the pages were landing somewhere. Now we know they land with you.
So, first, thank you. To the readers who arrived for one column and stayed for the roundtable, to the ones who forward us to a friend, and to the ones who argue with us and come back anyway: you are the reason we keep filing.
The paper has grown to meet you. This fall the masthead grew to nine, with new Health, Education, and Science & Technology desks joining the crew. Those three desks are just getting started, and this year you will read much more from all of them, alongside the beats you already know and the roundtable every month.
Five hundred aboard, and room for more. Same ship, same heading.
